All departments must post on-campus positions with the SEC and all students must apply for on-campus positions with the Student Employment Center (SEC). The SEC will verify that the applicant is enrolled in 6 or more hours as a Georgia Southern student for fall/spring semesters prior to hiring. Students will be required to submit a resume with their online application for student employment.

Once a hiring decision is made, a formal offer to the student chosen should be extended and the hiring proposal submitted for approval. Once a student accepts the position, the student should be provided the student hiring information located in the employer section of the SEC web page. The new student employee may begin the paperwork processing to finalize employment.

Note: if hiring a work-study student employee, the signed work-study authorization form must be sent to the Financial Aid office and a copy attached to the student hiring information form at the time of in-processing with Human Resources.

Departments will no longer complete the personnel action form as the hiring proposal in People Admin will now serve as new hire PAs. Please adhere to published Human Resources/Payroll schedule deadlines.

PAs will be submitted for data change, termination and one-time pay as needed on current employees only.
