Student Employment Center - SEC
The Purpose of the Student Employment Center is to enhance student learning and meet department student employment needs by providing meaningful work experiences to students.
The Student Employment Center (SEC) is located in Room 1104 of the Rosenwald
Building (located on Sweetheart Circle). The normal hours of operation are 8:00
a.m. - 5:00 p.m. The office contact number is 912-486-7159 or email studentemployment@georgiasouthern.edu.
We'll help you find employment opportunities at Georgia Southern University
and the Statesboro community while you're enrolled.
The Student Employment Center maintains the "student job postings" for Georgia Southern that can be found online at http://jobs.georgiasouthern.edu/SEC/postings.htm. The Student Job Postings list several types of student employment:
- On-Campus positions are open to all currently enrolled GSU students who meet the minimum requirements shown on the job vacancy listings, and most positions are paid an hourly wage.
- Off-Campus positions are readily available in the Statesboro and surrounding communities. Employers often advertise for assistance with landscaping, food services, cashier, sales clerk, wait staff, bookkeeping, etc.
- Federal Work-Study is a subsidized employment program based on financial need. Once a student completes the FASFA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and the Financial Aid Office determines award eligibility, notification is then provided to those students qualifying. Those students may apply for employment at the SEC for available work-study positions. The Student Employment Center will maintain the current listing of available work-study positions on campus. Search for on-campus work-study (http://jobs.georgiasouthern.edu/SEC/oncws.htm) employment (What is work-study? Click here for more information).
