Human Resources Administration

The Human Resources Administration unit provides oversight for the Human Resources Department. Functions concerning employee relations, employee grievances, progressive disciplinary procedures and human resources policy questions can be directed to the Associate Vice President and Executive Director.

Provides direction of Organization, Development & Learning area; provide guidance, advice and interprets HR policies and employment laws; assist with employee relations; provide assistance to resolve workplace concerns; assists managers and supervisors with performance expectations, progressive disciplinary process, or other employee concerns; training on performance management and corrective action; institutional liaison for mediation program, Certified Mediator & conduct mediation training; develop and deliver training programs and sessions; assess training needs; training policies; instructional procedures; evaluate training and development.

Responsibilities:
Serves as a point of contact for the eight academic colleges and administrative units by developing and maintaining relationships for all HR related matters. Provides guidance on human resources-related issues and questions to Dean’s, Department Heads, Chairs and Administrative Unit Heads. Advises individuals on resources to handle human resources issues/questions in such matters as recruitment, wage and compensation administration, employee relations, learning programs and benefits administration. Serves as a business partner/resource person in finding solutions and streamlining HR processes with administrative personnel.

Manages and coordinates all non-faculty employee compensation functions; including classifications, reclassifications, & equity adjustments; ensures all compensation and classification systems and programs support the University and remain compliant with Department of Labor guidelines including FLSA exempt/nonexempt status; recommends and promotes institutional compensation philosophies, salary schedules, strategies and policies; oversees the design and implementation of projects, initiatives and services responsive to specific institutional needs.
