SOAR is a mandatory orientation program for all new students. Registration for Spring SOAR will be available in September, and registration for Summer and Fall SOAR will be available on November 1. New information and updates are posted regularly on the SOAR website.

If you need financial aid or would like to be considered for the HOPE scholarship (Georgia students only), you will need to complete the FAFSA.

FAFSA Priority Filing Deadline – February 1, 2026

If you are in high school, request that your guidance counselor send us your final high school transcript. This will include all of your classes and grades from all four years of high school and will not be available until after you graduate. Make sure it includes your graduation date as well. If you have attended college through Dual Enrollment, we will need all official final transcripts from all colleges attended. Make sure they are sent to us directly from the college once you complete all of your Dual Enrollment work.

Visit the Health Services website for instructions on submitting the required immunization records and tuberculosis screening. These should submitted in the My.GeorgiaSouthern portal in Online Student Health. All forms should be received prior to beginning classes.

Your tuition and fees will be tallied by the Office of Student Fees. The bill will vary in amount, but will be based on the following:

  • Number of Credit Hours You Are Registered to Take During the Semester
  • Residence Hall costs
  • Student Fees
  • Meal Plan
  • Financial Aid Award

Additional expenses not billed by Georgia Southern include: EagleXpress, food, gas, off-campus rent, utilities, etc. The bill can be accessed online and is due by the first day of classes. Anyone who fails to pay their tuition and fees by this time will have their classes cancelled. Note, tuition and fees are approved by the University System of Georgia annually, and changes in tuition and fee rates are typically effective fall semester each year. Learn more about payment options.

Once you have been accepted to Georgia Southern, you can view your detailed credit evaluation report online via your Status Check Page.

If you need financial aid or would like to be considered for the HOPE scholarship (Georgia students only), you will need to complete the FAFSA. Financial aid does not transfer from one school to another. Once you have been admitted to Georgia Southern, contact your current school and have all remaining financial aid canceled.

Update your current year FAFSA to include Georgia Southern University’s federal school code, 001572. The 2026-27 FAFSA (for the Fall 2026 semester) is open!

If you were accepted under the Conditional Acceptance policy, then your acceptance to Georgia Southern is contingent upon the successful completion of 30 transferable semester hours (45 transferable quarter hours) and a final cumulative transferable 2.0 GPA. To prove this you must send an official final college transcript to our office before the first day of classes. If you are currently in classes and were accepted as a regular transfer student, we will need a copy of your final college transcript in order to give you credit for these courses and finalize your acceptance.
