Internal Funding Opportunities

Georgia Southern University supports faculty and student scholarship through a variety of internal funding opportunities. Explore grants, travel supplements, and publication support designed to advance research, creative activity, and professional development.

Research Seed Funding Awards

  • Purpose: Pilot studies that lay the foundation for future external funding proposals. (External proposal expected post-award.)

Scholarly Pursuit Awards

  • Purpose: Supports scholarly and creative projects that result in tangible outcomes such as publications, performances, or artistic works.

Competitive Travel Supplement

  • Purpose: Provides up to $1,500 for national or international conference travel to present research. Priority given to early-career faculty.

Publication Assistance Award

  • Purpose: Covers eligible costs for accepted faculty publications in refereed Q1 and Q2 journals or publishers.

Undergraduate Travel Award

  • Purpose: Supports undergraduate students presenting research at national or international academic conferences.
