
Three psychology graduate students in Georgia Southern University’s College of Education (COE) claimed all four student awards given during the 47th annual Georgia Association of School Psychologists (GASP) fall conference in Jekyll Island, Georgia, held Oct.16-18.

The Georgia Southern Theatre & Performance Program will present its adaptation of “An Octoroon,” Nov. 8-15 in the Black Box Theatre.


Theatre alumna Ibiwumi “Ibi” Owolabi (‘15) has recently been awarded the Kenny Leon Fellowship. The Kenny Leon Fellowship, named after the Tony Award-winning Broadway director Kenny Leon, is given annually to an early-career theatre artist of color.

Nearly 500 flags, representing each of the veteran and military students at Georgia Southern, will signify the Military and Veteran Student Center’s second annual Veterans Day ceremony at 9 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 10.

French Week, a celebration of the French culture, history and diversity, will return to Georgia Southern University for the 19th year Nov. 3-9.

“Visit Beautiful Roach Town,” an exhibit by Georgia Southern alumna Kathleen “Xed” Blankenship (‘17), will be on display Nov. 3-24 in the Averitt Center’s Rosengart Gallery, 41 West Main Street, Statesboro. The public is invited to a reception from 5 to 7 p.m., Nov. 3 during First Friday downtown.

Masters of Fine Arts candidate Jessamy McManus’ thesis exhibition, “Neon Nature,” will be on view at the Center for Art & Theatre’s University Gallery Nov. 7-14. The public is invited to attend a free reception at 5 p.m., Friday, Nov. 10.
