Student Research Symposium

Every spring, undergraduate and graduate students from the College of Engineering and Computing showcase their innovative research at the annual PCEC Student Research Symposium. This premier event brings together over 250 students and 180 poster presentations, offering a unique platform for participants to engage with business and industry experts, faculty, student peers and over 70 industry judges and advisory members.

Partner with the College of Engineering and Computing to bridge the gap between the classroom and industry. Position your brand at the center of innovation, academic excellence and technological advancement.

Empower Tomorrow’s Innovators

Demonstrate your commitment to the next generation of engineering and computing excellence. Advisory committee members and industry professionals can support the annual PCEC Student Research Symposium at Georgia Southern University in several impactful ways:

  • Host an Information Session– Lead a meet-and-greet with students or specific student organizations.
  • Fund an Award– Sponsor a Symposium award to recognize outstanding student achievements.
  • Event Sponsorship– Support various aspects of the event to ensure continuous funding for student research.
  • Evaluate Presentations- Review and judge student projects and posters using the RocketJudge mobile app.
  • Networking Reception– Connect with students at the formal reception held before the awards ceremony.

Contact Dr. Reinhold Gerbsch at rgerbsch@georgiasouthern.edu or 912-478-5474 for more information about these opportunities.

Shape the Future: Invest in Student Innovation

Your sponsorship directly fuels the breakthroughs of the next generation. By supporting the College of Engineering and Computing, you aren’t just funding projects, you’re investing in a proven talent pipeline.

Gain visibility among specialized experts. These students are your future R&D leaders, senior architects and lead engineers. Sponsoring their work puts your brand at the forefront of high-level technical achievement.

  • Undergraduate Research Awards– Transform raw ideas into reality. Each fall, the College Research Committee awards research funds for supplies and materials allowing students to launch original research early in their academic careers.
  • Graduate Research Awards– Advanced Discovery. Graduate research represents the highest level of academic inquiry. By sponsoring these awards, you support students who are tackling complex, industry-specific challenges through rigorous methodology and deep technical focus.
  • Assistants in Research Labs– Help place students at the heart of faculty-directed research. Funding for these roles provides hands-on experience and direct access to industry-leading experts.
