One of Georgia Southern University’s most popular events will return to the Statesboro Campus. The Institute for Interdisciplinary STEM Education (i2STEMe) will hold STEMFest on Sept. 22 at the Nessmith-Lane Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Activities for the community begin at 4 p.m., including a tailgate, campus tours and a meet-and-greet with the team. The event is free and open to the public.
The Armstrong Youth Orchestra (AYO) is holding auditions Saturday, Aug. 18 and Saturday, Aug. 25 at the Georgia Southern University Armstrong Campus Fine Arts Hall in Savannah.

The 39 Steps, a combination of a spy thriller and a physical comedy, will keep audiences laughing Aug. 23 and 24 at 7:30 p.m. at the Jenkins Hall Mainstage Theatre on the Georgia Southern University Armstrong Campus.
This Georgia Southern University Faculty Spotlight features Alma Stevenson, Ph.D., an associate professor of literacy in the College of Education. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in critical literacy, strategies, assessment and literacy in the content areas.

Georgia Southern University Police Department’s K9, “Bear”, will receive a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. Bear’s vest is sponsored by Optima Energy, Inc. and will be embroidered with the sentiment “This gift of protection provided by Optima Energy”. Delivery is expected within eight to ten weeks.
