
Georgia Southern University will host professional journalists Ted Koppel, Mara Liasson and Eugene Robinson to discuss “2016 Elections: Voting as an Informed Citizen” on Wednesday, March 23, 7 p.m., at Hanner Fieldhouse. The panel of speakers is part of the University’s Leadership Lecture Series, developed to expose students to insights from world-class leaders.

This installment of Faculty Spotlight features Axel Grossmann, Ph.D., associate professor in the Department of Finance and Economics. Grossmann says that his students’ success is his greatest asset, and he chose Georgia Southern because it allowed him to balance teaching students with pursuing research.
A new program for students at Georgia Southern University, the TRiO Student Support Services (SSS) program, sponsored by the Federal Department of Education program, is now accepting applications. The program provides comprehensive services to first-generation college students, limited income students or students with disabilities.

Georgia Southern University’s Performing Arts Center (PAC) goes country with “Live from Nashville,” an evening of country music and fun, on Jan. 30. A wildly popular and critically acclaimed performance, “Live from Nashville” treats guests to an exciting song and dance spectacle celebrating the musical tradition that gave Nashville the nickname “Music City.”
Georgia Southern University’s Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art presents the 2015-2018 SGC International Member’s Traveling Exhibition through Feb. 12 on campus in the Contemporary Gallery of the Center for Art & Theatre. The exhibition includes a reception Feb. 11 at 6 p.m. in the gallery. The events are free and the public is welcome.

The exhibition includes an artist lecture Thursday, Feb. 11, at 5 p.m. in the Visual Arts Building, room 2071, followed immediately by an artist reception in the gallery. The events are free and the public is welcome.
