Noir comedy ‘Red Herring’ opens Feb. 20 on the Armstrong Campus

Georgia Southern University Armstrong Campus’ student-run theatre group, The Masquers, will present, “Red Herring,” their first black box show of the new year. The show will run Feb. 20 through Feb. 22 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 23 at 3 p.m. in Jenkins Hall Black Box Theatre.

Extensive investigation by Georgia Southern University Police leads to arrest for October 2019 incident

The Georgia Southern University Police Department has identified Savannah resident Dominique Tukes as the individual who shot a Georgia Southern student on the Armstrong Campus on October 24, 2019. Following a thorough, months-long investigation by the University’s police department, a warrant was issued for Tukes’ arrest and he was apprehended today in Savannah by the U.S. Marshals Service.

Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art welcomes visiting artist Alicia LaChance

Painter and multidisciplinary artist Alicia LaChance will visit Georgia Southern University’s Statesboro Campus on Feb. 6 to discuss her exhibition, “Vanishing Point,” which is currently on view at the Center for Art and Theatre on the Statesboro Campus through Feb. 7. The center will host a gallery talk and reception on Feb. 6 at the University Gallery from 5-7 p.m.

The Georgia Southern University Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art is hosting the annual, ”National 2D Competition and Exhibition,” featuring artists from across the country on the Armstrong Campus in Savannah. The exhibition is on display now through Jan. 31 in the Fine Arts Gallery. A reception will be held Jan. 29 at 12:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
