Georgia Southern University hosts the 27th Annual National Youth-At-Risk Conference
The 27th Annual National Youth-At-Risk Conference, hosted by Georgia Southern University’s College of Education and the Division of Continuing Education, will be held in Savannah March 6-9. The conference trains adults who serve youth to create safe, healthy, caring and intellectually empowering educational environments that foster the well-being of children and adolescents by offering more than 120 sessions with nationally and internationally recognized presenters to more than 1, 200 conference participants from across the United States.
Tickets for Leadership Lecture Series distributed Feb. 29 through March 8
Tickets to hear journalists Ted Koppel, Mara Liasson and Eugene Robinson are required, and are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets will not be available at the door the evening of the event. Specific dates have been designated for students, faculty, staff and the community to obtain their tickets.

The U.S. Army Cadet Command at Fort Knox, Kentucky, announced Tuesday that Georgia Southern University’s Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program was one of the eight winners of the prestigious MacArthur Award for the 2014-2015 school year.

Georgia Southern runs past Bowling Green 58-27 in GoDaddy Bowl
In the first bowl game in program history for Georgia Southern (9-4), quarterback Favian Upshaw ran for a career-high 199 yards and four touchdowns, and Georgia Southern scored 35 unanswered points and rushed for 452 yards to power past Bowling Green, 58-27, in the GoDaddy Bowl Wednesday night in Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
Tyson Summers Named Next Head Coach of Georgia Southern Football
Georgia Southern Interim President Jean Bartels, Ph.D., R.N., Director of Athletics Tom Kleinlein and the Georgia Southern Board of Regents announced Sunday evening that Tyson Summers has formally accepted an offer to become Georgia Southern’s head football coach. He will be officially introduced at a press conference on Dec. 26 at the University.
