More than 3,300 students receive degrees from Georgia Southern during Spring 2016 Commencement
On May 6 and 7, Georgia Southern University recently held its annual spring commencement ceremonies for graduate and undergraduate students at Hanner Fieldhouse and Allen E. Paulson Stadium. Interim University President Jean E. Bartels, Ph.D., R.N., conferred more than 3,300 doctoral, master’s, specialist and bachelor’s degrees from the University’s eight colleges during two separate ceremonies.
‘Le nozze di Figaro’ to Open at the PAC
Georgia Southern Opera and the Georgia Southern Symphony will present a full production, Le nozze di Figaro, by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart on April 22 and 23 at the Georgia Southern Performing Arts Center. Both performances begin at 7:30 p.m. and are free and open to the public.

Georgia Southern celebrates second annual Holi Festival
Georgia Southern will once again celebrate the spring season at the second annual Holi Festival on March 24, 6-8 p.m. in front of the University Store and Dining Commons. Participants will smeared and sprinkled in colors while enjoying live music and dancing. In addition, Dining Commons will serve Indian cuisine in celebration of the event.
Tickets for Leadership Lecture Series distributed Feb. 29 through March 8
Tickets to hear journalists Ted Koppel, Mara Liasson and Eugene Robinson are required, and are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets will not be available at the door the evening of the event. Specific dates have been designated for students, faculty, staff and the community to obtain their tickets.
