On Dec. 2-3, Georgia Southern University brought more than 150 of the brightest high school seniors from Georgia, across the country, and the world to campus for the 12th annual Southern Scholars Showcase. These outstanding high school students interviewed for valuable and prestigious academic scholarships.
Georgia Southern announces Nikki Giovanni as 2017 MLK Celebration speaker
Georgia Southern University will welcome Nikki Giovanni, world-renowned poet, writer, commentator, activist and educator, to campus on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017. As the University’s 2017 MLK Celebration speaker, Giovanni will present her speech, “The Right to Dream,” for the annual event. Each year, the MLK Celebration provides an opportunity for the campus and local community to gather and celebrate the life and legacy of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
