College of Education faculty works with Smithsonian Institution on evolution education grant
Glaze serves as a co-investigator on a $1,083,000 grant the Smithsonian Institution has received from the National Science Foundation (NSF), the second grant in a series that began with a three-year NSF grant to develop teaching modules for advanced placement (AP) biology students. The grant, entitled “Learning Evolution through Human Examples” focuses on the redesign of the early AP teaching modules for use in general high school biology courses to encourage and support the teaching of human and non-human evolution in the curriculum.
Alyce Santoro’s Tonal Relativity opens at Center for Art & Theatre in November
The Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art will present Alyce Santoro’s Tonal Relativity in the University Gallery at the Center for Art and Theatre from Nov. 7 to Dec. 9. The community is invited on Nov. 10 to a 5 p.m. lecture given by Santoro in the Visual Arts building, room 2071, followed by a reception at 6 p.m. at the Center for Art and Theatre.
