OneGeorgia Authority Announces $500,000 Grant for Business Incubation and Workforce Development
The OneGeorgia Authority, a financial partner for economic development in Georgia, has announced its decision to grant a $500,000 OneGeorgia Equity Award for the advancement of workforce development in the Statesboro-Bulloch County region. The project, titled “Statesboro-Bulloch Regional Career and Workforce Initiative,” is a collaboration among Georgia Southern University, the Development Authority of Bulloch County and Ogeechee Technical College.
University Gears Up for 2nd Annual STEM Fest
Georgia Southern University is gearing up for its 2nd annual science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) festival this Saturday, Sept. 20 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Nessmith-Lane Conference Center, 847 Plant Drive. The festival will feature presentations by the Institute for Interdisciplinary STEM Education at Georgia Southern, NASA and the U.S. Army.
Moth Project to Attract ‘Second-Shift Pollinators’ on Campus
“This visually stunning project acts as the stage for a public art experience, cross-pollinating various disciplines, and further expanding an understanding of and appreciation for moths and other nighttime pollinators that are vital to the area,” said Georgia Southern Professor Jeff Schumki.

University Researchers Study Wilderness Therapy for PTSD
Georgia Southern University researchers have partnered with the Warrior Hike “Walk Off The War” Program, to study thru-hiking as an alternative method of therapy for combat veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
