14th Japan Foundation Film Series coming to Georgia Southern

Anyone interested in learning about Japan and Japanese culture can do so at Georgia Southern University by attending the 14th Japan Foundation Film Series. The series is sponsored by the Japan Foundation in collaboration with the Department of Foreign Languages and the Office of International Programs and Services.

William Daniels brings textile exhibit to Georgia Southern Statesboro Campus

William Daniels’ textile exhibit “On Pins and Needles” will be on view from Sept. 24 to Oct. 26, and an artist talk will begin Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 5 p.m. in Arts Building, room 2071. A reception will follow at the Center for Art and Theatre from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Georgia Southern art students exhibit work at Savannah’s Blick Gallery

“Ovation,” an exhibition showcasing the work of Georgia Southern University students from the Statesboro Campus who have received the Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art (BFSDoArt) Visual Art Scholarship for the 2018-2019 academic year, will be on view at Savannah’s Blick Gallery Sept. 3-28.

Georgia Southern Armstrong Campus to host performance by U.S. Air Force clarinet quartet

Woodwind fans in the Savannah area have a chance to see a nationally touring clarinet quartet on the Georgia Southern University Armstrong Campus. Mission Winds, a component of the United States Air Force Band of the West, will be performing at the Fine Arts Auditorium on Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m.

Artistic take on technology coming to Statesboro Campus’ Contemporary Gallery

Digital and physical worlds will collide this fall when Sphere’s “Here be Dragons” art exhibit comes to the Contemporary Gallery at the Center for Art & Theatre on Georgia Southern’s Statesboro Campus from Sept. 24 to Oct. 26.

STEMFest returns to Georgia Southern Statesboro Campus Sept. 22

One of Georgia Southern University’s most popular events will return to the Statesboro Campus. The Institute for Interdisciplinary STEM Education (i2STEMe) will hold STEMFest on Sept. 22 at the Nessmith-Lane Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Community invited to Fan Fest on the Georgia Southern Armstrong Campus on Aug. 24

The community will have the chance to learn more about opportunities on Georgia Southern University’s Armstrong Campus and meet this year’s football coaches and players in Savannah during the Fan Fest set for Friday, Aug. 24 on the Armstrong Campus. Activities for the community begin at 4 p.m., including a tailgate, campus tours and a meet-and-greet with the team. The event is free and open to the public.

Armstrong Youth Orchestra to hold auditions on Georgia Southern Armstrong Campus

The Armstrong Youth Orchestra (AYO) is holding auditions Saturday, Aug. 18 and Saturday, Aug. 25 at the Georgia Southern University Armstrong Campus Fine Arts Hall in Savannah.

The Masquers bring ‘The 39 Steps’ to Georgia Southern Armstrong Campus

The 39 Steps, a combination of a spy thriller and a physical comedy, will keep audiences laughing Aug. 23 and 24 at 7:30 p.m. at the Jenkins Hall Mainstage Theatre on the Georgia Southern University Armstrong Campus.
